QUALIFICATIONS
• Current Arizona Certified Occupational Therapist License by the Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
• At least two (2) years of experience, preferred
• Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Ability to obtain National Provider Identifier (NPI) Number and AHCCCS ID in order to participate in the Medicaid School Based Claiming Program
• Have knowledge, skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Occupational Therapist will provide services within the educational environment which are directed toward the development and maintenance of the disabled child's ability to benefit from their education.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy to students as specified in the student's IEP. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Screen students informally to determine the need for or extent of formal evaluation procedures.
• Evaluate the OT needs of students when indicated and provide a written report of results.
• Consult with school personnel and outside members of the medical community as necessary for placement and programming information.
• Develop and implement IEP goals and objectives for students eligible for OT services.
• Adapt equipment used in the classroom to meet the individual academic needs of the student.
• Assist the classroom teacher in understanding student needs and making recommendations for the adaptation of assignments or activities when requested.
• Attend IEPs, staffings, reviews, etc. on assigned students.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to special education services.
• Maintain state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The Occupational Therapist reports to the Director of Exceptional Student Services. The Occupational Therapist will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

SUPPLEMENTAL: Classroom Site Fund - $10,000 annual or prorated based on start date!
WORK YEAR: 9 Months Contract
