We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Tow Driver and Rotator Operator to join our team in Ontario. This role involves operating heavy-duty towing equipment, including rotator trucks, to assist with recovery operations, roadside emergencies, and accident cleanups. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Towing and Recovery Operations:
Operate heavy tow trucks and rotator equipment to perform recovery and towing services for commercial vehicles, buses, and other large equipment.
Handle complex recovery scenarios, including overturned vehicles and off-road recoveries.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Ontario's road safety and transportation regulations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of towing equipment to maintain safety standards.
Follow proper procedures for securing loads and ensuring vehicle stability during towing.
Customer Service:
Communicate professionally with customers, law enforcement, and other personnel on-site.
Provide clear updates on recovery processes and timelines.
Emergency Response:
Respond to roadside emergencies and accident scenes promptly, often under challenging weather or traffic conditions.
Collaborate with other emergency response teams to clear scenes quickly and safely.
Maintenance and Documentation:
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on towing and rotator equipment.
Maintain accurate records of all operations, including tow logs, incident reports, and equipment maintenance logs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Licensing and Certification:
Valid Ontario AZ or DZ driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Certification in heavy vehicle recovery (preferred).
Experience:
Proven experience operating heavy tow trucks and rotators.
Familiarity with the operation of winches, booms, and hydraulic systems.
Technical Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of heavy vehicle dynamics.
Proficiency in handling specialized towing equipment.
