Position Overview
The Senior Process Engineer will lead efforts to optimize and enhance E-glass furnace operations at the Etowah, TN facility. This role involves implementing process improvements to maximize efficiency, reduce energy and material waste, and meet high-quality standards. Core responsibilities include data analysis, root cause analysis (RCCA), and applying continuous improvement tools like 5 Why, JM Solve-It, and Kepner-Tregoe methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, output, and safety.
• Design, refine, and standardize process controls and operating procedures for product variations.
• Stay informed about new technologies and assess their integration into existing processes.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers and technical specialists to enhance process controls and modeling systems.
• Regularly review and adjust raw material specifications based on performance data.
• Identify and lead process improvement initiatives across multiple functions and locations.
• Provide technical guidance for project development, construction, and startup phases.
• Foster a culture of safety by promoting safe practices and behaviors throughout the facility.
Candidate QualificationsExperience:
• 5–7 years in industrial continuous process manufacturing, particularly as a process or design engineer.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex manufacturing process challenges.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science.
Skills and Expertise:
• Strong track record in process improvement and data analysis.
• Proficient project management capabilities.
• Knowledge of E-glass melter operations, combustion systems, refractory maintenance, and pollution control systems is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Effective leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with glass leak procedures.
• Hands-on familiarity with Honeywell DCS systems.
