We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our team as a Buyer at our location in Beccles.
What does this role include?
The Buyer will work directly with the Procurement manager to ensure the Projects they are assigned to manage, run efficiently in line with the business goals
What skills and experience are required?
Responsibilities
The following list is an indication of the responsibilities that the Buyer is expected to undertake. The list is not exhaustive and is intended as guidance only.
• Purchasing components and materials for project or non-project tasks
• Assess and Understand BoM requirements
• Manage the buying, in line with buying strategy, you are assigned - liaising regularly with Procurement Manager and PM's
• Expediting / Chase supplier Purchase Orders to ensure on-time deliveries
• Issue stocked parts, review & attribute MA & BI parts
• Undertake RFQ's / one-off enquiries - always ensuring high level of accuracy, using approved suppliers
• Develop / Continue to develop supplier relationships
• Explore new potential suppliers in line with AVL requirements
• Understand Project Brief, reviewing BoM for risks, ensuring clear lines of communication are established with Procurement and Project managers
• Raise & send PO's
• Review order confirmations - ensuring accuracy
• Lead project specific lessons learnt, whilst liaising with Procurement and Project managers
• Support other buyers on various projects in achieving best results – when resource is required, in line with Procurement Manager request
• Ensure continuity during absence/holidays working with Procurement Manager, by discussing workloads, providing project specific updates and any other tasks that will require attention
Requirements

• Have a good understanding of supply chain processes, inventory management & logistics
• Effective communication skills, to drive high quality, on-time, cost effective production - showing a customer-centric understanding to meet customer requirements
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work to & review departmental KPI’s
• A good understanding of ISO 9001
• Problem solving – ensuring project deliverables are achieved
• Working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to deal with issues in a calm and calculated way
• Ability to manage relationships with external and internal stakeholders
