As GGI’s newest Maintenance Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and smooth operation of our glass fabrication equipment and systems. You’ll work closely with our maintenance technicians to lead advanced troubleshooting, optimize machinery, and enhance our maintenance processes. Leveraging your technical expertise and engineering background, you’ll help ensure smooth and efficient operation and drive downtime reduction initiatives.
This position requires a strong background in both mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in manufacturing as a plus. A systematic approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within an interdepartmental team are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead advanced troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical and electrical issues on glass fabrication equipment.
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians to perform preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in maintenance and production processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with production teams to support daily operations and ensure timely resolution of equipment related issues.
• Identify recurring problems and perform root cause analysis to develop long-term solutions.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities in the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system), ensuring accurate records for compliance and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical mentorship to maintenance technicians to develop their troubleshooting skills and equipment knowledge.
• Write and submit a detailed daily report summarizing maintenance activities, issues, and resolutions to be shared with upper management, and compile these reports into a comprehensive weekly summary.
• Perform other related duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred. Relevant technical certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, or related field. Preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient with Windows PCs, Microsoft Office Software, and Microsoft Teams.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, programming, and modification is a plus.
