Meet with Youth Advocates of Sitka clinician, YAS site supervisor, Sitka High School teachers, to develop wrap around services for at-risk youth at Sitka High School and Sitka’s Cloud Teen Center. Act as a liaison between Sitka High School/Sitka’s Cloud Teen Center and Youth Advocates of Sitka. Tutor SHS students. Provide academic support. Mentor SHS students. Role model pro-social behavior and appropriate response. Engage in relationship-building strategies and active interventions with at-risk youth to form developmental relationships and enrichment activities that can help mitigate suicidal ideation and substance abuse. Support a long-term, big picture success of students through the development of intentional interventions. Engage with community partners and actively improve school climate through interventions to normalize mental health services. Form a bridge between the larger school district, youth and mental health services to provide wrap around services for youth. Develop and maintain relationships with school district staff to support youth. Improve the school climate through positive role modeling and creating connections between organizations that tend to become silo-ed. Teach life skills to prepare youth for success. Social and emotional support of SHS students and youth at the Teen Center.
