Job Description

The community of Estevan, located in Southeast Saskatchewan, is seeking a team-orientated and professional family physician to join the health care team. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team providing primary health care services to the community of Estevan and the surrounding area and will work collaboratively with other medical professionals to support the area's acute care and emergency services.

St. Joseph's Hospital, located in Estevan, is a fully accredited district hospital that provides the following services: Acute Care, Obstetrics Ward, Operating Room, Emergency Room, Dialysis Ward, full diagnostics including Laboratory, X-Ray, Ultrasound & CT Services.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the educational needs of medical students, residents, nursing staff, and allied health professionals. The successful candidate will be encouraged to become involved in the academic efforts in the Department of Family Medicine in our area.

Relocation Package

The successful candidate may be eligible for:
• The Rural Physician Incentive Program (RPIP) which provides up to $200,000 over five years to family physicians practicing, or returning to practice, in rural and remote communities in Saskatchewan
• The SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $3,500 - $7,000

Job Qualifications
• Certified or eligible to be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• Regular or Provisional License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) (or eligible to be licensed)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Recommended - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP
• Valid driver's license
• Successful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector
• Current Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) coverage
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada
