We have an extraordinary opportunity for someone to join our team in the Dallas office to lead our Billing Team as Director. This senior management role is responsible for overseeing all billing operations and ensuring the firm’s billing practices are accurate, efficient, and compliant with client agreements and industry standards. This role will work closely with the finance team, partners, and attorneys to manage billing cycles, resolve discrepancies, and improve processes related to the firm’s billing systems and client invoicing.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Oversee all aspects of billing operations, including onboarding new clients and preparing, reviewing, and submitting client invoices.
• Ensure timely and accurate billing cycles by handling complex client billing arrangements, including hourly, flat-fee, and contingency fee structures.
• Implement and maintain billing policies and procedures that support the firm’s growth.
• Collaborate with attorneys to ensure accurate timekeeping, expense reporting, and compliance with client billing guidelines.
• Work with clients to resolve billing issues in a professional and timely manner, maintaining positive client relationships.
• Identify and implement improvements to billing processes, systems, and tools to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.
• Generate ad hoc reports to track key metrics such as revenue, collections, and outstanding invoices.

Candidate experience:
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of billing or finance experience in a law firm environment, with at least 5 years in a management/leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of law firm (or professional services) billing practices, including time and expense tracking, billing cycle management, and client invoicing.
• Experience with law-firm billing software, preferably Clio.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with attorneys, clients, and staff at all levels.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, driving performance while maintaining high standards of professionalism and accuracy.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accuracy and compliance in all billing practices.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities.
