The Position

RETIREMENT
CalPERS 3% @ 50 formula (Classic); single highest year. CalPERS 2.7% @ 57 formula (PEPRA)

The City does not participate in Social Security.

All employees will contribute the equivalent of $85 per month to offset CalPERS Unfunded Accrued Liability costs. The employee contributions made pursuant to this Employee CalPERS Response Giveback Plan will be coordinated as a pre-tax contribution. Lastly, the employee contributions made pursuant to this Employee CalPERS Response Giveback Plan will be considered part of the employee contribution towards CalPERS retirement system costs.

HEALTH, WELFARE, & SAVINGS
The City offers a monthly cafeteria benefit of $1,450 / month for use towards enrolling in any of the City offered health, dental, and vision plans. Any employee who can furnish proof of coverage with another group plan can take 25% of the unused cafeteria benefit as deferred compensation or cash.

VACATION LEAVE
100 hours of annual vacation accrual, increasing up to 200 hours based on years of service

SICK LEAVE
Accrued at 8 hours per month, with an unlimited accrual

LONG TERM DISABILITY AND SHORT TERM DISABILITY
City-paid benefit. Benefits equal 60% of employee's base salary for qualified periods

LIFE INSURANCE & ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND DISMEMBERMENT
The City provides a life insurance policy of 1x the employee's annual salary for a maximum of $200,000

POST CERTIFICATE PAY
Intermediate - $350/month
Advanced - $750/month
Supervisory - $850/month

BILINGUAL PAY
Eligible and qualifying employees shall receive a bilingual stipend of $125/month.

TUITION REIMBURSEMENT & ANNUAL EDUCATION BONUS
Tuition reimbursement is available upon completion of probationary period. Additionally, completion of a degree entitles employee to an annual bonus:

AA: $225 / year
BA: $375 / year
MA: $525 / year
Ph.D.: $675 / year
