POSITION SUMMARY :
The Chief Quality Officer is responsible for the overall planning, direction and operations of Quality, Risk Management, Patient Safety, Accreditation and Regulatory Activities at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH). He/she collaborates with Johns Hopkins Medicine International and the Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute to provide an organizational structure, resources, and activities for JHAH to advance clinical quality and patient safety.
Position Location : based in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the Eastern Province city of Dhahran; residence is on the premises of Aramco City a gated community only for the employees of Aramco & JHAH .
Reporting Relationship : The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer of JHAH and works collaboratively with executives across JHAH and at JHI & Armstrong institute.
PRINICIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Applies knowledge and skills to identify and prioritize needs, provide relevant information to clinical and administrative leaders, and meet organization’s quality and patient safety goals.
• Collaborates with leadership and clinicians to select appropriate key performance indicators, targets, and benchmarks.
• Provides direction to and coordination of quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management activities.
• Develops infrastructure and resources to support data collection, reporting, and analysis.
• Uses expert knowledge to provide leadership guidance for accreditation and regulatory activities.
EDUCATION:
Completion of an accredited Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Doctor, Doctor of Osteopathy or Physician's Assistant program preferred.
Master's degree or Masters Candidate required in the fields of Nursing, Public Health, Health Policy, Business Administration, Health Administration, or a field related to quality engineering or business process improvement.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Requires seven years related and progressive experience, strong technical proficiency and knowledge acquired through a broad range of experiences and exposure to healthcare quality programs, risk management. International health experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE
• Knowledge of program development, project management and administration, performance improvement theory and application, and accreditation requirements.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnosis, surgical procedures, and basic disease processes. Awareness of licensing and accreditation standards.
• Advanced knowledge of QI methodologies, applications and theory. Knowledge of adequacy of clinical documentation, and ability to conduct research of issue at hand, as well as formulate recommendations based on findings.
• Advanced knowledge of unit operations, performance improvement, regulatory and professional standards, evidence-based practice patient safety/risk management, and outcomes management.
