The duties of a pharmacy technician include managing inventory, stocking shelves, and organizing medication supplies

Join our team as a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician. Your main responsibility will be to assist pharmacists in accurately and efficiently preparing and dispensing medications. Responsibilities:
• Prescription Drug Packaging: Help pharmacists in accurately and efficiently preparing and dispensing prescription medications. Retrieve, count, pour, label, and package medications as directed by prescription orders and established procedures.
• Prescription Processing: Main responsibilities consist of accepting and deciphering prescription orders from patients, prescribers, and electronic prescribing platforms. Confirm patient data, medication details, and insurance validity to ensure correctness and adherence to legal standards.
• Assist with managing pharmacy inventory through tasks like placing orders, handling deliveries, and ensuring proper storage of medications and supplies to support operational efficiency.
• Offer friendly and attentive customer service to patients and healthcare providers, including handling phone calls, greeting customers, and addressing queries about medications, refill requests, and pharmacy assistance.
• Prescription Management: Accurately log prescription and patient data into electronic pharmacy software. Facilitate insurance claim procedures, process prescription orders, and keep patient profiles current.
• Following compounding guidelines and procedures is essential in the realm of medication compounding where one prepares compounded medicines and unique formulations under pharmacist supervision. Adhere to these protocols to maintain accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance inspections on dispensed medications to corroborate accuracy, completeness, and alignment with quality norms. Alert the pharmacist about any discrepancies or issues encountered for resolution.
• Regulatory Obligations: Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations governing pharmacy practices, including adherence to HIPAA privacy standards, pharmacy laws, and controlled substance protocols. Ensure the confidentiality of patient information and medication records.

Requirements:
• Applicants are required to have a high school diploma or a similar qualification, while having completed a pharmacy technician training program or certification is advantageous.
• Some states may require Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification or an equivalent credential, with pharmacy technician licensure or registration tailored to that state also being necessary.
• Experience: Having previous familiarity with working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is preferred but not required. Entry-level employees will undergo on-the-job training.
• Computer Skills in Pharmacy Practice: Adept in operating computer systems for data entry and managing pharmacy software interfaces. Familiar with pharmacy vocabulary, medication names, and dosage formats.
• Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and customer service aptitudes. Skilled in working harmoniously within a team and maintaining professional relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and peers.
