EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2025, THE MINIMUM PAY FOR THIS POSITION WILL INCREASE TO $18.29 PER HOUR.
The Pre-treatment Technician I / II will assist in the inspection of pretreatment devices, ensuring compliance among League City businesses by conducting thorough examinations and sampling. Responsibilities include assisting with field inspections of grease, lint, sand, and oil/water interceptors to ensure adherence to City codes. This role entails outdoor work and the ability to lift manhole covers. This is a safety-sensitive and/or DOT position. Therefore, participation in random drug testing at the city will be mandatory.

Pre-Treatment Technician I ( Minimum $37,301.47 Maximum $54,087.14)
Inspect businesses for compliance with City of League City codes. Assist in the investigation of complaints and collaborate with other departments to resolve them. Serve as a backup for the Development Review Committee (DRC); assist in reviewing, planning, and providing comments. Sample businesses for Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG). Assist operations in addressing pretreatment issues, ensuring compliance. Support maintenance in identifying and addressing "hot spots" at Lift Stations concerning Fat, Oil, & Grease (FOG). Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining laboratory and/or field equipment. Contribute to the development and implementation of the stormwater plan. Subject to on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend availability, including overtime as needed. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Pre-Treatment Technician II ( Minimum $40,285.59 Maximum $58,414.10)
Performs all duties of the Pre-Treatment Technician I Capable of working under limited or moderate supervision while performing complex tasks. Provides second level of supervision for the Wastewater Department in the absence of the Lab Supervisor/Pre-Treatment Coordinator Must pass all proficiency requirements.
Must be able to provide services for the bene fit of the general public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of League City’s citizens, and that, City employees must be able to work immediately before, during, or immediately after an emergency.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Valid Driver's License.
Pre-Treatment Technician I
Must meet all required minimum qualifications in addition to the following:
Minimum one year experience Must have Class D Wastewater Operator License Obtain Class D Water Operator License (within 18 months)
Pre-Treatment Technician II
Must meet all required minimum qualifications in addition to the following:
Minimum two years of experience Must have Class C Wastewater Operator License Must have Class D Water Operator license
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that offer the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position may be substituted or assessed at the City's discretion.

Pre-treatment programs and follows all regulations from EPA and TCEQ

Employees will work in adverse weather conditions such as high temperatures, humidity, prolonged sun exposure, rain, and sleet. Work may also involve contact with chemicals, fumes, dust, insects, noxious plants, snakes, and other wildlife.
