Radio Engineer.

Major UK Provider of Radio Systems.

ST Neots, Cambridgeshire.

The Company

Being one of the UKs leading independent communications suppliers, specialising in the design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of wireless voice and data networks. Our client has the largest dedicated radio engineering team in the UK. Each of their staff member is trained by every leading manufacturer to the highest standard and provided with the latest DMR and Tetra test sets to ensure even the latest equipment can be repaired to component level. With continued expansion they are now seeking a Field Radio Engineer to join this thriving business.

The Role

You will be working within the dedicated engineering team and be personally responsible for providing bespoke technical solutions for customers and SME on all Radio Engineering.

Role Includes
• Design and build of bespoke technical solutions in line with customer requirements.
• Provide Technical assurance to customers.
• Preparation CODEPLUGS/FLEET Plans for customer requirements (Motorola & Hytera).
• Installation, Troubleshooting and maintenance of telecommunication equipments from different vendors: Hytera, Motorola, Tait, Simoco, Kenwood and Icom
• Site Maintenance and servicing
• Faults Management with log analysis, defects debug and work around responsibility
• Business support: customer needs analysis and customer presentation of new products
• Involved in providing Technical Support to the communication systems in major contracts

Skills And Experience
• 2+ years experience from within either military or commercial Radio communication
• RF propagation experience.
• Strong IT experience specifically: database management & networking topologies & TCP/IP & DMR/PMR software applications.
• Must either be currently SC (security cleared) or held previously and able to refresh without any issues.
• Experience in fault finding across a multitude of telecommunication platforms.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• RF fault diagnostics.
• Broader technical skills, specifically in the design of bespoke solutions

Desired
• Knowledge of PMR programming software Tait, Simoco, Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM and Hytera
• Trunk Radio (MPT1327) database management
• COTS radio repair down to component level, namely Tait, Simoco, Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM and Hytera
