Purpose:
LFPPC is a community of Christ followers in Lake Forest Park who understand themselves to be "a family in Christ, for the sake of others." Our passion for service finds us engaging with our immediate community and global partners to seek the well-being of all as we together face issues such as racism, food insecurity, those experiencing homelessness, and refugees seeking safety amid political crises. We offer hope and refreshment in the spirit of Christ in these uncertain times.
We are looking for a creative, collaborative partner who can further our mission using their technical skills to empower a committed team of volunteers, staff, and ministry partners in finding ways to connect our passion for service to Christ with the needs of those in our neighborhood and around the world. The person we seek is one who finds fulfillment and joy in working behind the scenes to serve others, who delights in bringing out the best in others, who is an excellent communicator, possesses an artistic flair, and shares our concern for the needs of others. This person will join a vibrant and enthusiastic staff who collaborate in their efforts to make a positive difference in the world.
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities
• Recruiting, Training, and Scheduling Tech Volunteers
• Facilitate the live stream of worship services
• Maintain the church network and IT systems
Secondary Responsibilities
• Collaborate with staff on the creative use of our website and IT resources
• Administer the church website
Essential Qualifications
• Enjoys working with and enabling others to succeed
• Positive Team player that graciously gives and receives constructive feedback
• Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office and Mac Products
• Familiarity with the use of social networks and platforms such as Zoom, Vimeo, YouTube
Advantageous Skills
• Graphic arts or design
• Story-telling: creative, descriptive
• Empathy: able to grasp and understand the situations of others
• Teaching and teachable
• Prior experience in related fields (Training in specific tasks will be provided)
Compensation, schedule and potential:
• Flexible schedule apart from Sunday mornings 8:30-11:30 and a weekly 1 hour staff meeting
• $20.00 per hour plus additional fee-based compensation for occasional services requiring technical assistance (weddings, memorial services, preschool programs)
• Additional hours available during seasonal events (Christmas, Easter)
• This position has growth potential based on the skills and opportunity the successful candidate brings and available funding to support an expanded compensation package
• The incumbent will work with an existing team of volunteer support; the primary tasks will involve directing this team and including additional volunteers
