Job Title : Cost Accountant
Location : Indianapolis, IN Hybrid!
Salary : $65,000-$75,000

They are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join their team and play a critical role in analyzing costs, ensuring financial accuracy, and driving profitability.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, ensuring accurate reporting of costs across the production cycle.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, prepare reports on production costs, and recommend areas for improvement.
• Monitor inventory transactions and perform periodic audits to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in month-end close of the general ledger, focusing on cost accounting.
• Prepare and analyze variances between actual costs and budgeted/standard costs.
• Collaborate with production teams to review operational performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare reports detailing fixed and variable costs for management review.
• Work with external auditors to provide necessary cost accounting documentation and support.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies related to cost accounting.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting within the manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).
