Nantucket Golf Club is a private and exclusive golf club located on an island 30 miles from Cape Cod. Nantucket has been continuously ranked as the ‘best island’ and ‘top island’ of the US and World. It is a unique and beautiful place to spend a summer. The course was designed by Rees Jones and was named ‘Best New Private Golf Course’ by Golf Digest.

We continually improve the course through capital projects. This past offseason, we finished a complete renovation of our bunkers. During the Spring of 2025, we will complete a much smaller bunker project, which will focus on refining a handful of bunkers, while adding a few new bunkers. We began our irrigation replacement project (Toro 2-wire system) after Labor Day, with planned completion by May of 2025. We began to restore our irrigation pond on our 8th hole in the Spring of 2024 and will complete that project this fall. This is a great opportunity for the right student to experience state of the art golf course management practices, facilities, equipment, and construction and project management.

Our goal is for every intern to be prepared for an assistant’s position after completing an internship at our club. We provide a positive working environment and the necessary instruction for learning. The opportunity for advancement to an assistant’s position at the club is available for the right candidate.

Interns will be exposed to all aspects of golf course management including, but not limited to, daily equipment setup, participating in morning meetings, irrigation management and repair, fertilizer/chemical calibration and applications, management of weekly topdressing programs, clubhouse and guest cottage landscaping, tournament preparation, daily meetings with golf course managers, and more.
