Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Retina Surgeon to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. The Hospital is part of NYC Health + Hospitals. Lincoln is a designated Level I Trauma and Stroke Center and has Centers of Excellence in all medical specialties, including its award-winning Cancer and Breast Centers. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Weill Medical College of Cornell University to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Opportunity Details

• Perform comprehensive examinations of the visual system to determine the nature or extent of ocular disorders.
• Perform ophthalmic surgeries such as vitrectomy and other vitreoretinal surgical procedures.
• Diagnose or treat injuries, disorders, and diseases of the eye, with a specific focus on retinal disease.
• Document and evaluate patient medical histories.
• Perform, order, and interpret results of diagnostic or clinical tests.
• Provide postoperative ophthalmic care, as needed.
• Develop treatment plans based on patient histories and goals, the nature and severity of disorders, and treatment risks and benefits.
• Prescribe and administer topical or systemic medications to treat ophthalmic conditions and to manage pain.
• Perform laser surgeries to alter, remove, reshape, or replace ocular tissue.
• Educate patients about maintenance and promotion of healthy vision.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of health professionals to provide optimal patient care.
• Refer patients for more specialized treatments when conditions exceed experience, expertise, or scope of practice of practitioner.

Qualifications

• Must have completed both a residency in ophthalmology, as well as a retina fellowship.
• Surgical training and surgical experience post-fellowship preferred.

Hourly Amount : $180.00
