About the role

We are excited to be recruiting for a recently available Finance Director role! A generous package is on offer for the successful individual who will be responsible for optimising the company’s financial performance and strategic position. To be successful in this role, you will need excellent people management, leadership and influencing skills alongside a proven track record of improving financial performance. This is more than a number-crunching role and requires significant operational input on a daily basis as part of the senior leadership team.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

1. Manage the accounting department of circa 15 responsible for daily financial operations to support the business.
2. Contribute to company strategy by providing accurate financial insight and input.
3. Evaluate business opportunities and carry out financial modelling.
4. Sign off all necessary accounts and reports, including month-end management accounts and annual reports.
5. Cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders in a large matrix-managed organisation.
6. Oversee budgeting & forecasting with responsibility for cash flow analysis.
7. Regularly review accounting processes to ensure they support the needs of a complex organisation.
8. Set and achieve short and long-term financial objectives.

Your Skills and Abilities:

1. Excellent knowledge and experience of all aspects of accounting, with at least five years of experience as a number one finance person.
2. Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (GAAP) & Financial Reporting Standards (FRSs).
3. Experience in Corporation Tax and Personal Tax.
4. Experience working in a fast-growing organisation with fast-paced and daily challenges.
