Overview: The primary responsibilities of the Director of Youth Ministries is to lead the youth of Englewood United Methodist Church to grow in their understanding of God and the Christian faith, grow the youth ministry program deeper and wider, engaging more youth and increasing its impact in the community.
Schedule This is a full time position, a minimum of forty (40) hours per week.
Supervision The Director of Youth Ministries reports to the Associate Pastor and will relate fully to the rest of the staff, the Church Council and Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC). The Associate Pastor and SPRC will be responsible for evaluating the job performance.
Collaboration The Director of Youth Ministries will work as a team with the Associate Pastor to vision the future of EUMC Youth Ministries. The Director of Youth will work in collaboration with the Director of Children's Ministries to ensure alignment of activities and opportunities and provide a path for movement from one program to the other.
Invite
Provide regular opportunities for fellowship and social activities to encourage friendship among students including weekly activities, lock ins, retreats etc.
Gather with students where they are: practices, games, performances, etc. Time should be spent developing relationships with students in their natural environments including schools and extracurricular activities.
Engage
Create a culture of worship, where worship is understood by students and desired as a way of life. Encourage attendance and participation in 9:15 AM worship service.
Be the team builder and relationship maker for youth families, staff, and congregation members.
Grow
Facilitate recruitment and training of teachers and preparation of lessons that grow student's knowledge of the Bible, experience of God, and love for Christ.
Teach and encourage students to grow deeper in relationship with Christ through spiritual discipleship.
Provide ongoing opportunities for students to grow deeper in faith through Bible study and faith formational activities in weekly gatherings.

Inspire spiritual growth as students mature to 11th and 12th grade by facilitating connection with campus ministries and preparing them for college and the workplace.
Serve
Facilitate opportunities to engage in hands on mission in the Englewood community.
Lead and empower students to serve at EUMC in a number of opportunities on Sundays and throughout the week.
Bring confidence and ownership to youth and program volunteers.
Facilitate WOW! Wednesday night youth program.
