jobs description

Fulton River Partners is working with an incredibly fast-growing family-owned CNC shop in the Berkeley area. This shop is owner-operated and specializes in precision CNC machining of custom metal components for some of the world’s largest aerospace, electronics, and healthcare companies. They have an incredibly strong culture - while they value years of experience, they are equally excited about hiring more junior level CNC professionals who can come in and learn, working their way up.

They are looking for talented 5 Axis CNC Programmers and/or Machinists to join their team onsite. Competitive salary especially for this area of the country, all wrapped in an actually fast-paced but enjoyable environment vs the norm of a traditionally slow manufacturing landscape that is a grind... no pun intended!

Responsibilities:
  • CMM Programming and Operation : Develop and maintain accurate CMM programs using PC-DMIS or similar software to inspect complex aerospace parts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Inspection and Analysis : Conduct thorough inspections of machined components, analyzing measurements to verify product quality and conformity to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • GD&T Interpretation : Interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to program accurate measurement routines and troubleshoot issues related to tolerances and part dimensions.
  • Documentation and Reporting : Generate inspection reports and documentation to support quality assurance processes, providing data for corrective actions, process improvements, and audits.
  • Continuous Improvement : Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to identify and resolve quality-related issues, implementing corrective actions and driving process improvements.
  • Equipment Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance on CMM equipment and fixtures to ensure accuracy and longevity, coordinating with vendors for calibrations and repairs when necessary.
  • Training and Mentorship : Provide guidance and training to junior team members and operators in CMM programming, inspection techniques, and quality control best practices.
About You:
  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CMM Programmer in CNC machining, ideally in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in PC-DMIS or similar CMM software is required.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
  • Experience with inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Education : Associate degree or equivalent in a technical field (Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, etc.); CMM and Quality certifications preferred.
  • Soft Skills : Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
