Required Qualifications
• Education Minimum Requirement:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (biochemistry, chemistry, biology) and 1 to 3 years of laboratory or pharmaceutical industry experience
• Strong wet chemistry laboratory skills (pipetting, buffer preparation, filtration, dilution, stoichiometry, lab documentation)
• Ability to communicate effectively with local and global stakeholders via modalities including oral presentation, virtual meetings, chats, email
• Impeccable attention to detail and time management. Stays focused in the face of change/ disruption.
• Motivated to understand laboratory workflows and propose improvements
• Outstanding colleague who works to create a positive, inclusive, and inquisitive environment for all team members

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with analytical instrumentation (plate readers, densitometers, thermocyclers, cIEF, UV/Vis spectrophotometers, rt-PCR, HPLC/ UPLC systems)
• Experience with analytical chromatography, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, other analytical characterization techniques
• Experience working with proteins, peptides and/ or enzymes
• Experience with analytical method development and/ or technology transfer

Responsibilities:

Join our laboratory to be part of an incredible team! The Process Development Analytics team uses a selection of analytical tools to glean insight into laboratory, pilot and commercial scale pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Our goal is to provide investigation support, promote process understanding, and facilitate technology transfer of pharmaceutical processes to the Elkton, Virginia site. We work with teams locally and across our global network to bridge process, quality, and analytical principles and leverage them into a focused laboratory that provides timely, high-quality analyses to support the needs of our organization
• Follow SOPs and batch sheets to perform analytical testing on samples
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and records in compliance with standards and procedures
• Exercise good sample handling practices
• Report data to stakeholders in a timely and complete manner consistent with laboratory best practices
• Perform basic troubleshooting and assay optimization activities
• Produce high quality work against firm deadlines
• Maintain a clean and compliant laboratory space
• Follow all safety and environmental compliance guidance
• Work with a team to solve technical and scientific problems
