ELPAC Tester (Certificated) K-12 Reading/Writing:

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The Assistant Director of Categorical and ELL Programs will oversee the ELPAC Tester's participation in the initial and follow-up assessments of K–12 students designated as second language learners in Reading/Writing.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
• The tester will travel to various school sites daily to complete testing according to the timelines provided by state and federal guidelines.
• Administer the ELPAC test to K-12 students in Reading and Writing.
• Prepare materials for testing.
• The tester will complete date information for each student tested, administer the appropriate test and complete the numerical scoring for parts of the test.
• Administer test to students’ one on one in Reading and Writing.
• Completes initial scoring and reviews procedures with Coordinator.
• Reviews Home Language survey for accuracy of information from student registration forms.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS:
• Substitute Permit Required
• Valid California Driver’s License
• Professional or volunteer work with children’s groups, tutoring, and/or mentoring
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Work cooperatively with site staff members.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Capable of self-direction in completing assigned tasks.
