This role will collaborate closely with businesses, service providers, and other tax professionals & will report directly to the Partners.Responsibilities• Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within a timeframe.• Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise.• Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns.• Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.• Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the company’s financial objectives and comply with tax laws and regulations.• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the firm and its clients.• Drive continuous improvement in tax processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.• Pursue compliance and achieve goals through optimizing reporting procedures and driving the successful function of the tax team.• Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.Qualification• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent diploma.• Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.• In-depth Tax course Or Master of Taxation.• Minimum 10 years of management experience as a tax professional.• Strong working knowledge of CaseWare, TaxPrep or a similar tax program.• Background in Estate taxation considered an asset.• Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.• Able to manage multiple complex projects and deliver in a timely manner.• Results-driven with a track record of achieving strategic goals and adding value to clients.• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, and tax rules/laws and regulations.• Develop and implement creative solutions to challenges.• Work independently with a high level of accountability.Benefits and Perks• Competitive salary• Comprehensive benefits package including:• Group RRSP matching• Health and dental benefits• Firm sponsored social events• Firm sponsored professional development• Potential for flexible working arrangements and work-life balance• Opportunities to grow within the firm
