Academy Guru
POSITION SUMMARY
The Academy Guru will teach an interactive curriculum in 50-minute sessions to kids grade 4-7 and/or 8-12. The ideal candidate should have superb presentation skills, excellent communication and interpersonal aptitude, and a strong desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment- driving education through fun with kids. Academy Guru’s can help build out additional classes and camps to align with their passions in an opportunity to grow their pay at their desire as well. Classes are taught Monday- Thursday 4-7:50PM (intervals of 50 minutes/ class), Fridays 4-5:40PM and Saturdays 10-2:50PM
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Curriculum Development and Instruction: Design and deliver engaging lessons on various aspects of esports and their adjacencies, including game theory, strategy, teamwork, and industry trends. This includes both theoretical and practical elements, such as gameplay analysis and skill- building activities.
• Student Support and Mentorship: This involves monitoring student progress, offering guidance on career pathways in esports, and helping them develop essential skills for the industry.
• Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress. This includes both formative assessments during the course and summative assessments at the end of modules
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other educators and industry professionals to enhance the curriculum and provide students with relevant experiences. Collaborate to create opportunities for students to participate in competitions and events.
• Community Engagement: Foster a positive classroom environment and promote teamwork and communication among students. Organize and manage esports events and competitions to provide practical experiences.
• Industry Awareness: Stay updated with the latest developments in the esports industry, including new games, technologies, and trends. Use this knowledge to enrich the curriculum and inspire students.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills, Experience, & Knowledge
• Experience: Practical experience in esports or a related field is essential. This could include
participation in esports events, team management, or knowledge of game design and
development.
• Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are crucial. The ability to
• engage and motivate students, alongside a passion for esports, is highly valued.
• This role is not only about teaching students to play games but also preparing them for future
• careers in a rapidly evolving industry
• Experience: Practical experience in esports or a related field is essential. This could include
• participation in esports events, team management, or knowledge of game design and development.
Education & Training
• A degree in a relevant field (e.g., sports management, game design, education, coding), working towards a degree in a relevant field or relevant experience. Teaching qualifications (like a PGCE) can be beneficial but are not always mandatory.
