Job title: School Minibus Driver
Hours: Zero Hours as and when required
Salary: Band A point 17 (£23,120) pa. pro rata FTE
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Prime function: To safely operate the school minibus on an as and when basis in a professional manner
Key Responsibilities:
• To be responsible for safely operating the school minibus according to a set daily schedule. He/she must ensure that the school minibus is in good operating condition at all times, pick up and drop off pupils as per the schedule, maintain order and security on the bus and obey all laws, regulations and rules of conduct
• To operate the school minibus in a safe manner, ensuring the safe passage of pupils to and from school
Duties:
• Operate the school bus in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Record mileage daily and conduct regular engine checks
• Clean the fleet of buses as scheduled and /or required
• Ensure the minibus is safely and security stored
• Advise the Facilities Supervisor of any requirement for maintenance or repairs
• Pick up and deliver pupils as per a set schedule
• Take attendance on the school minibus
• Ensure pupils are aware of rules and responsibilities as passengers
• Maintain order and discipline on the school minibus
• Make note of any behavioural or disciplinary problems
• Additionally you may be required to drive other vehicles when necessary
