Description

The Program Manager for Community Engagement & Capacity Building will support initiatives focused on building partnerships between community health and social care organizations as well as amplifying the voice of people with lived experience throughout the Camden Coalition's local, regional, and national work.

The Program Manager will help lead the Coalition's regional work in Southern New Jersey through the administration and implementation of the community engagement strategy and through coordination with other internal departments such as the Care Management and Clinical Redesign (CMRI) team. The Program Manager will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of program implementation including strategic planning, program monitoring, program evaluation efforts, supporting outreach, workshops and trainings, coordination across partnering organizations, and collaborating with community members/people with lived experience. Nationally, the Program Manager will support the Coalition's work leading and implementing strategies to advance authentic community engagement through coordination with the INSPIRE team.

Requirements

Essential Functions

Regional capacity building
• In coordination with department leadership, support the creation and implementation of a regional strategy informed by community health needs data, state/regional priorities, and community members and people with lived experience.
• Nurture and grow partnerships with other health and social care organizations throughout the region to support aligned and coordinated approaches to meeting community needs.
• Nurture and grow relationships with community members/people with lived experience throughout the region and create pathways to engage them through community engagement mechanisms such as surveys, focus groups, project working groups, advisory boards, etc.
• Work closely with the Assoc. Director of Community Engagement and Capacity
• Building and other departments to manage and carry out deliverables as a Regional Health Hub throughout Southern New Jersey; including supporting the roll out of the 1115 Housing demonstration.
• Help to foster communication and coordination strategies and structures to support coordination between health and social care organisations throughout Southern NJ.
• Collaborate with CMRI to identify opportunities for expanding authentic community engagement approaches to inform regional initiatives including intersections with population health programming, My Resource Pal and the Health Information Exchange
• Represent the Coalition at various community events and meetings.

Inclusion of people with lived experience
• Through INSPIRE, support the implementation of a national strategy to advance community engagement in healthcare by supporting coordination, communication, and alignment across the INSPIRE Core Team.
• In coordination with the Assoc. Director of Community Engagement & Capacity Building, help to lead major national community engagement initiatives focused on building the capacity of healthcare organizations and people with lived experience to work together.
• Support departments and teams across the Coalition to meaningfully include people with lived experience in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Coalition programming, including directly involving members of our local and national networks of people with lived experience (e.g. CAC, Consumer Scholars, Amplifiers).
• Nurture and grow connections with people with lived experience including maintaining an understanding of their personal goals, interests and areas of expertise in order to identify opportunities that they are best suited to support.

Project Management
• Carefully coordinate and execute, in a highly detailed and organized manner, all logistics for program planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Report project activity and progress regularly with the department leadership, Coalition Board, project stakeholders, and partnering agencies.
• Track and manage project deliverables.
• Compile and submit reporting, as directed by the supporting foundations or contractors.
• Support grant writing and development.
• Participate in public speaking opportunities and create high quality power point presentations and other written content for stakeholder meetings and speaking engagements.
• Transcribe, synthesize, and distribute meeting minutes.
• Represent the program and/or the Coalition at various local, state, and national meetings.

• Oversee accurate record-keeping for grant related project and the timely submission of deliverable.
• Submit grant reports and participate in funder phone calls.
• Adept in managing multiple projects and workflow and maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced, highly collaborative deadline-driven environment.
• Demonstrates ability to carefully set priorities, meet deadlines, and schedule time efficiently.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Demonstrates a strong operational skillset with a proven record of accomplishment of translating strategy into action.
• Knowledge of or interest in the complex care field.
• A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Non-Essential Functions
• Attend relevant training as necessary to maintain professional certification and/or knowledge.
• Adheres to the Camden Coalition's guidelines and ensures the appropriate handling of sensitive information.
• May work non-traditional hours based on operational needs and to meet the needs of the community.
• Completes special projects specific to the department's function or as needed for the department as directed by the Department Head.
• Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations.

Experience, Education, and Licensure
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in the for profit and/or non-profit sector. Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization. Supervisory experience required.
• Familiarity with healthcare policy and systems. Ability to understand and monitor use of grant funding to accomplish program objectives.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree helpful, but not required.

• Although work is primarily indoors, you may be required to travel outside to business community locations.
• This position is based in Camden, NJ. The workforce member will be required to be present in the office at least two days per week (currently Tuesdays and Wednesdays; subject to change), and on other days as needed. This is not a fulltime remote position.
• At times the position may be expected to travel within the New Jersey for trainings or meetings with partners.
