Journeyman/Journeywoman certification is preferred and previous FCA training accreditation is highly favorable but not required. Responsibilities:
• * Identify mechanical problems through the use of vehicle knowledge, test drives and most often with the assistance of the latest computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Test parts and vehicle systems to ensure that they are working properly and diagnose needed repairs if required
• Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined
• Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, giving tuneups, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires
• Repair or replace worn parts such as brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, etc.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components
• Use testing equipment and practices to test the functionality of parts and to ensure that repairs are completed effectively
• At times, explain to clients their automotive problems and the repairs done or that are needed on their vehicles
• Prepared to get additional certification as needed
• Help keep a professional appearance
Requirements:
• Automotive and engine repair experience or training required
• Clean and valid Class 5 drivers license
• Automotive mechanics certificate or degree
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment
• Responsible and reliable
• Dedicated work ethic and the ability to work as part of a team
• Must be able to read, interpret and transcribe data
• Effective communication skills to help explain diagnoses with service staff and/or customers
• Basic computer skills
• Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $35.00-$60.00 per hour
