Example set of tasks can be:• Implement various algorithms written in Matlab and Python languages into different real-time sensor platforms that required to be run in C• Research to find various C library packages, such as lapack, fft, database, to support algorithms development• Communicate and cooperate with sensor platform developers to have a full understanding of the platformJob Description:A strong preference will be given to individuals with experience in the following:• Ability to communicate with algorithm authors to bring the algorithms to their full fruition• Full command and understanding of Inter Process Communication (IPC), multi-Threads, multi-Process to exchange data between applications• Capable of developing various applications on a Real-time Operating System (RTOS) running on a micro-controller• Knowledge of various serial and wireless communication protocols(SPI, I2C, TCP/IP, USB, USART, BLUETOOTH)Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:• Ability to switch tasks at a short notice to accommodate software needs for various team members and others in ARL• Conduct various CONUS and OCONUS field tests to collect data for future development and to determine the algorithms performance in real-time• Collaborate with other contractors to build field-deployable ground sensor systems• Partner with other teams in ARL to achieve main goals set out by team leader and branch chief• As needed, learn another software language to better accommodate in development of novel sensor system• Advise the algorithm authors on how to best implementing their algorithms into a real-time platformsSkills and Knowledge:• US citizenship• Ability to secure a security clearance• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or Computer Science• Ability to work independently.• Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills.• Ability to work in a team environment.• Interest in advancing and prioritizing national security technologies.• Well versed in C-language for embedded system developments• Experience in C programming for microcontrollers as well as with current CPUs.• Able to develop software applications to run on Linux and windows platform.• Capable of porting Matlab and Python applications to C to be run as real-time applications on Linux platform.• Knowledge of MATLAB and Python languages.• Well versed in writing applications to be run in multi-threads and multi process environments.• Have some background in A/D and communication hardware (serial, USB, TCP/IP).Work Experience Desired:• Minimum of five years at position that needed similar skill set• Experience in communication and data flow between internal applications and external systems• Work with hardware engineers to build a working prototype that produce the desired results• Strong knowledge with A2D, GPS, communication hardware• FPGA hardware and software/driver experience is a plusCompetitive pay commensurate with education and experience.The selected candidate will be an employee of General Technical Services LLC (GTS).US citizenship is mandatory (to obtain the required security clearance).
