Job Summary:To work interdependently with physicians, nurses and other clinical staff to provide comprehensive, high quality medical care to Kaiser Permanente members.Essential Responsibilities:• Assists the physician in providing comprehensive medical care to targeted patient population in the ambulatory clinic setting by:• Preparing the patient for the medical examination.• Performing scree...ning activities appropriate to patient population.• Performing assigned clinical tasks and/or procedures.• Assisting with scheduling follow-up appointments and activities as recommended by the physician.• Performs clinical tasks and/or procedures appropriate to targeted patient population under the delegation and supervision of a licensed physician.• Performs clinical tasks and/or procedures appropriate to targeted patient population under the delegation and supervision of a registered nurse.• Immediately notifies physician or other licensed health care provider of patients observed to be in distress.• Documents all care given and actions taken on behalf of the patient in KP HealthConnect.• Facilitates smooth and efficient operation of the clinical department by monitoring the flow of patients and intervening as appropriate to minimize wait times and promote a positive experience for the patient.• Assists with inventory and requisition of required supplies; keeps exam and procedure rooms adequately stocked at all times.• Engages in positive interactions with Kaiser Permanente members, visitors and fellow staff members at all times.• Performs other duties as assigned.
