Senior LIFE is an innovative home and community based Medicare and Medicaid funded program which provides all-inclusive healthcare services and support to seniors living in the community. Senior LIFE makes it possible for seniors to remain at home, enjoying the comfort and reassurance of familiar surroundings while receiving the care they need. Senior LIFE staff live the mission of the program. Our team is committed to partnering with our seniors to remain at home through promoting open communication and shared decision making while providing excellent care and services.

COTA must be fully licensed in Pennsylvania, and be committed to participating in the educational training and workshops required for license retention. Because of the nature of Senior LIFE centers and the diverse needs of its members, responsibilities are wide-reaching and enable assistants to gain unparalleled experience in all aspects of OT-related elderly care, including
• Assisting in the development of comprehensive, integrated treatment programs for members
• Executing select treatments in accordance with OT and interdisciplinary Plans of Care
• Assessing homebound members’ needs, including home visits, comprehensive evaluations and ongoing follow up, as needed
• Training outside caregivers and family members as well as Senior LIFE staff members in relevant OT protocol OT procedures, surrounding their specific care plan responsibilities
• Providing ongoing training and support to members, members’ families and external caregivers for in-home participants, ensuring maximum independence and safety for those not at the center
• Documenting all member care, executed by the COTA or the OTR, and evaluating and updating care plans as necessary
• Maintaining up-to-date records in Data Pace, ensuring all interdisciplinary team members can review and analyze, as needed

COTAs will be key to ensuring members’ success because of their direct work with those members as well as from the in-depth, high-value responsibilities tied to training and effectively communicating critical information with Senior LIFE and external caregivers. This role will be on the frontline of ensuring member success, and requires an articulate, dedicated, hardworking, and caring individual, who is passionate about helping the elderly. Besides proper certification, COTA applicants must have at least one year of experience working with this population, with the ability to demonstrate strong working knowledge during the interview process. A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license is also required.
