Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer working out of our Tallinn office here at Checkout.com, you'll be exposed to the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC). You will work on the specification, design, coding, testing, and deployment of various solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate and spirited, lives and breathes Agile, and firmly believes in creating clean, testable code.

What you will be doing

1. Collaborate with globally distributed and multidisciplinary teams
2. Assist in requirements identification and in producing specifications
3. Create and maintain a development environment for efficient testing and integration
4. Assist QA to define acceptance tests
5. Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation
6. Participate in team knowledge management and make recommendations for continuous improvement of SDLC
7. Contribute and adhere to coding standards, best practices, and procedures
8. Mentor teammates

Qualifications

1. Enjoy learning new skills and using the best tools for the job
2. Solid experience in Software Development, Design, and Architecture
3. Strong knowledge and application of software design patterns
4. Demonstrable experience as a Java Developer
5. Knowledge of core Java language
6. Excellent practical knowledge of OOP concepts and solid principles
7. Experience with Unit and Integration testing
8. Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment workflows
9. Superb communication skills, ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Nice to haves:

1. Experience with DBT, Snowflake, Airflow, Monte Carlo, Docker, AWS, Terraform, Datadog
2. Working within a microservices architecture/distributed architecture
3. Experience working in a compliance environment
4. Scalability and high throughput software
