Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Accounting Clerk I will compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. The Accounting Clerk I may also compile, compute, and record billing, accounting, statistical, and other numerical data for the City's utility billing purposes. Trial Service Period: 90 days (employment remains at-will at all times)
Minimum Training and Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six (6) months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements: The employee almost continually talks or listens, uses hands to fingers, handle, or feel; the employee generally stands, sits, and reaches with hands and arms; the employee occasionally walks, climbs or balances, stoops, kneels, or crouches. The employee occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds.
