Position Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our St. Gabriel engineering team. As the primary technical expert on Instrument/Electrical issues, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our sophisticated, computer-controlled plant environment. Our facility features 1,300 instruments, including over 50 nuclear sources, operating in high-hazard and corrosive conditions. With electrical power received at 138kV and distributed at 13.8kV, alongside various 2.4kV motors, the annual power consumption exceeds 5MVA.
Main Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all aspects of the electrical system. Responsible for ensuring the site meets all relevant company and statutory requirements. Systems design and auditing will be a key part of the job.
• Work very closely with both the Production Team and Technical Team to ensure reliability and continuous improvement of the electrical system takes place. The economic impact of plant availability is high. Although the operating and maintenance technicians do not report directly to the Electrical Engineer, they will receive much of their guidance from this position.
• Manage all site minor projects, using on- and off-site resources to provide multi-disciplined designs. Controlling and monitoring of project costs will be an important element of the role. The individual will also be responsible for the construction of these projects: the construction supervisor will respond to the Electrical Engineer.
Skills Required:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer within a petrochemical environment.
• Proficiency in maintenance and testing of safety shutdown systems and high-voltage electrical equipment.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing within petrochemical settings.
Education / Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
