Commercial Territory Manager - San Jose, CA

Position Description

Job Summary

What’s the job?

The Commercial Territory Manager (CTM) for Commercial Building & Infrastructure (CBI) is responsible for sales growth of CBI’s portfolio of commercial roofing systems by generating sustained demand and positioning CBI as the preferred choice among owner, architect, builder, contractor, and distribution customers.

  • Works collaboratively with Regional Sales Manager to deliver sales growth and sustained demand.
  • Builds and maintains value-added relationships between customers and our organization.
  • Calls on end-users, contractors, builders, architects/specifiers, and owners creating a “pull-through” demand, subsequently working with distribution customers to close related sales.
  • Actively targets and tracks construction projects from planning through bidding phases to maximize closing rates.
  • Conducts and participates in sales promotions and educational meetings with architects, contractors, builders, and builder sales representatives, applicators, distributors, and other trade factors.
  • This is a field sales role, requiring extensive travel to call on customers. Travel is up to 75% primarily within driving distance with a company-provided vehicle.

Required Qualifications

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, marketing, business, or similar discipline, or five years of equivalent training and experience that provides thorough knowledge of the laws, regulations, and practices concerned with the field of construction.
  • 5+ years of applied professional experience managing customer relationships, sales presentations, and closings of sales.
  • Valid driver’s license and able to successfully pass our MVR background check.
  • This role requires a high level of independence and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of commercial and residential construction practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and build quality relationships through networking.
  • Good interpersonal, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills with good written and oral communication.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
