Title of Position: Project Director, LPHA

Description of Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Director is responsible for providing oversight for the staff and clients of the Gulf Coast Center within the Gulf Coast Region Assisted Outpatient Treatment (GCR AOT). Responsible for implementing a multi-disciplinary AOT program, working with courts, community partners, and other entities to support community-based treatment for adults with SMI who meet criteria for AOT. Oversees all aspects of the GCR AOT Program including all day-to-day operations, and provides individual therapy for GCR AOT program participants. Coordinate and implement psychosocial rehabilitation as part of an interdisciplinary team overseeing service provision within the TRR service model, including crisis intervention services, pharmacological management services, targeted case management, medication training & support, skills training & development, psychosocial rehabilitative services as well as SE/SH/IMR evidence-based practices within MH adult service array. Responsible for ensuring quarterly & semi-annual program achievement of HHSC performance contract measures/outcomes. Responsible for the development & monitoring of assigned program budget. Work involves assisting in establishing program goals and objectives; assisting in development of program guidelines & procedures; developing standards for achieving program goals; and evaluating program activities. Accountable for assuring compliance with GCC training requirements as well as state and federal regulations, including program billing/clinical documentation practices and other contractual obligations and requirements. This position will also offer therapeutic services to Gulf Coast Center adult behavioral health clients, utilizing CBT and evidence-based practices. Will within a person-centered planning model, consults with team members, and may conduct diagnostic evaluations.

Qualifications for position (minimum):

  • Minimum of a master's degree with an LCSW or LPC licensure.
  • Requires at least five years of work-related experience with behavioral health adult population.
  • +1 year of supervisory experience with direct reports.

Supervisory Relationships: Supervises staff assigned to the GCR AOT Team. Receives direct supervision from Director of Behavioral Health Services.

Skills & Knowledge Required: Requires extensive knowledge of targeted case management/skills training/psychosocial rehab services and related Medicaid, Medicare clinical documentation requirements, and broad knowledge of local community resources. Also requires detailed knowledge of mental disorders and DSM criteria and working knowledge of evidenced based therapy models. Knowledge of leadership, planning, and teamwork skills are also essential.

Travel & Special Conditions: May be required to travel between Gulf Coast Center Mental Health Clinics and meetings.

Working Conditions: Work will be performed in the Office, Field and/or Remote setting(s). May require varied work hours depending on need of individuals. Out of region travel may be required to attend trainings. May require travel to various locations within Brazoria and Galveston Counties. Requires current Texas Driver's License, reliable transportation safe and current with all state requirements, and liability insurance.

Special Projects: Assist supervisor when requested to complete special projects and complete all assignments within a time frame negotiated with the supervisor. Completion of other duties as assigned by supervisor as it relates to the program and position.

Ability to hear (with or without aid). Ability to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and observe objects within work setting.

Mental:

Ability to accept constructive criticism. Ability to maintain regular attendance. Ability to understand, communicate and comprehend accurate information with others in English. Ability to reason and analyze effectively. Ability to solve practical problems as it relates to position. Required to pass and maintain all Center mandated trainings.

Ability to work alone. Ability to work closely with others. Ability to work closely with individuals and/or family members with poor hygiene. Ability to work long and/or irregular hours. May be subjected to hostile environment. May be subjected to high crime environment. Potential exposure to tobacco products. May be subjected to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Subject to standard noise levels within working environment. Travel by motor vehicle, van, bus, or plane may be required.
