The Falmouth Commodores is a collegiate summer baseball team based in Falmouth, Massachusetts and is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL), the premier collegiate baseball league in the country. Currently more than 350 players who played in the CCBL are playing in the major leagues. The organization of volunteers (managers, social media, broadcasting, fan relations, finance, etc.) and interns from major sports media schools work to deliver 40 games through the summer season – providing players with the opportunity to be seen by MLB scouts. Interns have the opportunity to gain valuable experience, and fans the opportunity to experience a nearly Professional baseball experience.
The Commodores are looking for a Game Day Operations Supervisor who will be responsible for working with the Game Day Interns for the summer.
Job Description
· Hire interns for the summer season. This will consist of going to job fairs, using Handshake (college database), looking at the CCBL database and monitoring the Fan Relations email and creating fliers for social media.
· Responsible for maintaining all relevant information on the interns by entering information into a database.
· Assist interns with housing by developing a contract with a local inn as well as working with a real estate agency to get out information to the interns on rental houses.
· Keep the Intern Handbook updated and disseminate to interns.
· Responsible for the upkeep of all necessary forms used during the season.
· Work with merchandising to order shirts for interns.
· Work with food vendor to negotiate the best prices for dinners for the interns.
· Create and laminate badges for all interns and volunteers.
· Work with Fan Relations to obtain 50/50 prizes.
· Develop orientation for interns.
· Train interns on all aspects of their positions.
· Counsel and mentor interns throughout the season.
· Write job descriptions if necessary.
· Other duties as assigned.
Skills
· Must be able to work with spreadsheets and databases.
· Previous experience with young adults preferred.
· Must have good communication skills.
· Organizational skills needed.
Other Requirements
· The ability to work year-round is needed.
· Must be able to be at the field for home games at least 50% of the time.
