Who says work can't be fun? USA Ninja Challenge Marlborough is seeking a dedicated and passionate part time Obstacle Course Instructor to join our team. What does an Obstacle Course Instructor do? Think American Ninja Warrior for kids. You will work teaching children how to balance, climb, swing, jump, and traverse. All things kids love to do anyway! The ideal candidate needs to enjoy working with kids, be motivated to teach, be passionate about fitness and able to lead by example. Experience with obstacle courses is not necessary, but a willingness to learn is!

Requirements:
• Experience working with school age children for 3+ months
• Passion for fitness
• Experience as an educator, teacher, coach, mentor, or youth volunteer
• 18+ years old
Responsibilities:
Classes:
• Gym set-up: Set up the gym appropriately for the age of the class, following all safety guidelines.
• Enforce gym policies: Know the gym policies and enforce them with students, including dress code, behavioral protocol, injury protocol, and food/drink rules.
• Class warm-ups: Lead an engaging 15-minute dynamic and static stretching warm up.
• Coach up to 8 students in a group: Take a group through the lesson plan (provided by lead instructor). Keep the ninjas safe, interested, motivated and challenged.
• Assess levels: Know how to reference the assessment sheet to assess levels to the USA Ninja Challenge standard.
• Update student skills: Use the skill assessment system to keep skill records up to date.
• Interact with parents: Interact positively with parents. Be able to communicate a child’s success in class to the parent.
Facility:
• End of day cleaning: Complete all tasks on the daily cleaning checklist.
• Lock up the gym: Turn off heat/AC, lights and ensure that all doors are locked.
Parties-Gym set-up:
• Set the gym up for the age of the party guests and follow all safety guidelines.
• Lobby set-up: Organize the lobby with tables and chairs adequate for the party size.
• Sign in/Greeting: Greets guests and have each parent sign a waiver upon arrival.
• Warm-up: Sign children into gym and explain rules and expectations. Lead the warm-up for all party guests before using any obstacles.
• Party structure: Follow the party plan in an engaging and energetic manner.
• Assist during lobby time: During the lobby (cake and present) time, the instructor aids the family as needed.
• Clean up: Assist parents in cleaning up, follow end of day cleaning procedures.

• Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour based on experience
• Expected hours: 12-16 per week
• 3-5 hour shift
• After school – 3:30 – 8:00, Primarily Wednesday/Friday
• Saturday – Mornings
• Weekends afternoon parties as needed
Preferred Experience:
• Teaching/Coaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Working with children: 1 year (Preferred)
• Ninja Obstacle Experience is not needed
