This energy start-up organization in California is working to create new kinds of energy storage through create low-cost thermal batteries. This forward thinking technology will combine inexpensive thermal storage media at high temperatures with high-efficiency thermophotovoltaic energy conversion methods, which will serve to support the widespread integration of renewable resources into the electricity grid. The organization is currently seeking a new intern to help support the research and design process.Responsibilities include:Assisting with creating sub-systemsCreating models and drawingsOrganizing quotes into spreadsheetsManaging potential supplier relationshipsPerforming preliminary testing of those systems in the lawOpportunity to use this internship for one's thesisQualifications:In pursuit or possession of a bachelor's or master's degree in renewable energy or energy processingExcellent communication skillsExcellent English skillsExperience working with batteries and renewable energyExperience with electrical engineering componentsInterns can expect to grow both professionally and personally through an internship with this dynamic and interesting start-up in California. One will improve their knowledge of both engineering processes and energy systems. This internship can be tailored to meet the needs of different interns.
