JOB OBJECTIVE: To coordinate all technical operations of the Auditorium/Performing Arts Center as a Representative of Oak Ridge Schools.

Essential Job Functions

80% Provide technical support for internal and external events in the areas of stage preparation, lighting, and sound. Coordinate with Maintenance and Operations for external users and serve as primary contact following initial rental agreement.

20% Manage stage and performing arts equipment, monitor inventory, maintain cleanliness of stage and auditorium areas, and oversee general program needs.

Responsibilities And Duties
• Serve as technical support for all activities scheduled in the Auditorium/Performing Arts Center.
• Perform various duties associated with technical support equipment, stage props, overhead lighting, curtains, and screens.
• Provide for the monitoring of all rehearsals and performances in the Auditorium/Performing Arts Center by both non-school and school groups, as needed.
• Achieve high standards of customer service by working cooperatively with internal and external users to provide accurate and timely responses and services.
• Assist outside groups/activities with the loading and unloading of stage equipment, and the setup of production properties and equipment.
• Perform general duties related to maintenance, inventory, and repair of equipment.
• Follow all safety codes, regulations, and established procedures.
• Report significant conditions/situations to the Oak Ridge High School Supervisor.
• Communicate and collaborate appropriately and effectively with the ORS Maintenance
• Perform custodial duties for the auditorium and related areas including restrooms.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• High level troubleshooting ability when working under pressure or deadlines.

Job Location: ORHS Auditorium/Performing Arts Center

Physical Qualifications Lift, push, and pull objects which weigh up to 55 pounds frequently (tables and chairs) and heavier objects occasionally (staging, stage weights). The ability to move up and down stairs, ladders, and cat walk is required. Occasional work at heights in excess of 30 feet is required.

Equipment Used Includes: Small hand tools, power tools, electrical testers, ladders, platform lift and safety belts. Must be familiar with and utilize cell phones, 2-way radios, theatrical rigging systems, sound board, and lighting board.

Job Standards
• Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with setting up standard sound and lighting equipment; 1-year sound/lighting experience in a theatrical setting.
• Experience in theatre or media/technical field.
• Flexible work schedule, which will require working irregular hours, evenings, and weekends.

Critical Skill/Experience

Considerable knowledge of audio, lighting, and video production methods, practices, techniques and equipment.

Considerable knowledge of lighting equipment, basic lighting plots, uses and capabilities, and maintenance/repair.

Knowledge of the requirements and standards applicable to video production, sound, and lighting.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact, courtesy and good judgment.

Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail to meet deadlines.

Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions, policies and procedures.

Ability to operate and maintain video, lighting, and sound equipment such as video cameras, video switchers, audio mixers, soundboards, and microphones.
