Description
As a Staff Accountant, you will perform critical accounting functions in support of assigned business units including maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with month-end closing processes. Your responsibilities will include updating ledgers, reconciling accounts, supporting audits, and improving accounting procedures while ensuring compliance and accuracy.
The ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant position is someone with strong analytical skills, and proficiency in accounting software. They will also possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a solid understanding of GAAP principles. Additionally, they should demonstrate excellent mindfulness, problem-solving abilities, effective communication and people skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
• Record and maintain all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of entries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and generate and analyze and financial reports.
• Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets.
• Ensure all accounting practices comply with company policies and relevant financial regulations.
• Conduct detailed analysis of financial variances and report findings to senior management.
• Manage and process invoices.
• Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies.
• Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, or 4+ years of directly related experience.
• Experience with accounting software.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong mindfulness and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience with financial statement preparation and general ledger reconciliation.
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
• Ability to learn and work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
