We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Trade Finance Solutions Structurer to join our Treasury Services Trade and Portfolio Management . This role is located in Hong Kong, Hybrid.
This is a critical role tasked with the development and execution of high-impact strategies to better position Trade Finance across key customer segments. The individual will collaborate with the product team, relationship teams, and their respective clients and office prospects, responsible for structuring, negotiating, executing, and distributing trade finance transactions. Additionally, this individual will work closely with clients to understand their working capital and trade finance objectives, identify opportunities, and recommend appropriate structures. While the structuring focus of the business is on Core Trade (Letters of Credit, SBLCs, Collections, Trade Loans, etc.) transactions, the structurer will also be responsible for Distribution and Supply Chain Finance (Receivables & Payables Finance) as well as exporter marketing involving our global network.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
• Work closely with the senior trade structurer in APAC to implement trade strategies and initiatives driving trade business growth & revenue within the region
• Partner with the sales and relationship management teams to recommend structures that align with client needs and requirements, primarily focusing on North Asia
• Support and participate in pitching, structuring and execution of a transaction as well as prepare and review data analysis
• Assist in product build-out across Treasury Services and contribute to product strategy discussions
• Assist with all aspects of deal execution, including previewing with internal partners, preparing credit analysis and approval materials, conducting approval discussions, and negotiating legal documentation
• Understand and monitor customer needs, regulatory environment, market, macro-economic trends as well as business opportunities
• Engage with credit, finance, legal, operations and risk stakeholders to deliver seamless solutions to clients
• Embed quality in client touchpoints including proposals and presentations
• Participate and present in clients' webinars, seminars, and external speaking events
• Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions, considering the firm's reputation and client interests
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
• Proficient in English and Mandarin, both spoken and written.
• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
• 5-8 years of experience in trade finance.
• Structuring and transaction experience, with a strong working knowledge of commercial L/C, collection, distribution, FI credit, cross-border and legal risk
• Command a high degree of credibility with the client management, sales teams, and credit/legal risk teams
• Formulation and implementation of business strategy across all customer segments
• Ability to thrive in a growing, fast-paced environment while juggling multiple workstreams
