Overview

The Industrial Security Specialist II is an Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) that develops, implements, and administers security procedures on the Department of Defense (DoD), and other U.S. Government agency security requirements. Responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for information systems and as such, works in close collaboration with the FSO, ISSM, and or Local, and Corporate Security Management. Ensures compliance with DOD 5200.22-M - Defense Industrial Security Program, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Frontgrade security policies and procedures and physical security programs. The AFSO is a self-starter who works independently with little guidance.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures as outlined in the security authorization package
• Apply current computer science technologies to the development, evaluation, and integration of computer systems and networks to maintain system security for classified information systems
• Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals
• Ensure audit records are collected and reviewed
• Attend technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties
• Assist with investigations into security incidents and violations related to cleared information systems; reports such incidents and violations to ISSM/FSO/security lead ensures corrective actions are implemented
• Assist in conducting periodic self-inspections on local processes and practices to ensure NISP compliance; accurately reports security posture to site, group and corporate leadership
• Serves as Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO); must be fully capable of operating as the FSO in the FSO’s absence

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in either the defense industry or Information Systems Security, or a combination of both, and familiarity with NISS, DISS/NBIS, Security Information Management System (SIMS), and other applicable security applications
• Related Field of Study (Bachelor's degree)
• Applicable experience in lieu of a Degree may be considered.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain a security clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
• Pay Range: $55,530 - $68,051 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
