Duties and Responsibilities
• conduct research in China’s Eco-urbanization holding special expertise in one or more of the following subfields: climate mitigation, adaptation and resilience; urban climate governance; eco-/low-carbon urbanism; political economy of carbon neutrality; state power and eco-urbanization; climate justice; and energy geography;
• participate in interdisciplinary research activities of the Urbanization, Sustainability and Governance (USG) Research Theme of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the International Centre for China Development Studies (ICCDS)

Requirements
• a Ph.D. degree in Geography or a related discipline (e.g., environmental sciences, planning, sociology, politics, and economics);
• a demonstrated record of relevant scholarly publications and grantsmanship;
• expertise and research experience in China’s climate governance, climate justice, state power and eco-urbanization, political economy of carbon neutrality, and/or energy geography;
• relevant field work experience in China is preferred

What We Offer

The appointment will commence from January 1, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter, but in any case not later than May 1, 2025, for a period of 2 to 3 years.
