Assists with the daily functional operations of the airport.
• Overtime pay is available*
• Inform Airport management of situations and conditions impacting the normal operations of the Airport;
• Lead, direct, and support employees during shifts when immediate supervisors or managers are not present to make high-level decisions;
• Respond to inquiries from the public, airport tenants, airlines, and governmental regulatory agencies;
• Update and revise manuals, governmental advisory circulars, and forms used by the Airport;
• Maintain records of work performed each day and submits them to the supervisor;
• Perform other duties assigned by anyone in the organizational structure with a position of authority;
• Establish and maintain effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative, and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams, and workgroups;
• Operate with considerable independence, exercising sound judgment and initiative;
• Participate as an integral member of the Operations snow team and be on-call during airport emergencies;
• Issue and cancel notices to airmen (NOTAMs) as required by Part 139 and Airport Policy;
• Maintain the working knowledge of FAR 139 and CFR Part 77 regulations to provide oversite and ensure compliance on/in/around the Airport;
• Perform daily inspections of the airfield and the Terminal Building to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations;
• Properly use and comply with the Airport's notification systems; and Monitor alarm, fire, and mechanical systems;
• Coordinate with the air traffic control tower to escort personnel and equipment on the airfield;
• Coordinate on local traffic advisory to perform runway inspections at the Executive Airpark;
• Issue and record all Airport identification badges, parking decals, taxicab permits, and temporary ramp permits on a computerized system;
• Maintain a working knowledge of TSA Part 1542 and the Airport Security Program (ASP) and monitor compliance with Airport security policies (non-law enforcement). Escalate issues to Airport Police as required;
• Escort authorized personnel and equipment throughout the Airport property;
• Ensure safety, security, and continuity in the operations of the Airport;
• Maintain a working knowledge of all environmental guidelines and regulations, including the Storm Water Pollution Protection Program (SWPPP) for the Airport.
• You must be able to sit, stand, and can drive a vehicle to perform inspections
• You must work in seasonal temperatures around loud noises and be exposed to aviation fuel and other flammable liquids while inspecting or completing projects.
• This is a seven-day-a-week and twenty-four-hour-a-day department. You must be able and willing to work all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. In addition, you will be expected to work during emergencies.
• Skills in team leadership.
• Ability to read and understand technical materials, reports, and journals.
• Possess the ability to develop and present mathematical and aeronautical information.
• Possess the ability to use technological equipment and processes to improve workflow and communication.
• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management.
• You must possess or have the ability to possess a valid Texas driver's license within thirty (30) days of starting.
• You must be able to pass all city pre-employment tests and all applicable federal background checks.
• You must be able to lift and move twenty-five (25) pounds and do minor physical labor, too include but not limited to filling wildlife holes, resetting bag belts, and assisting maintenance staff as needed.
