Job Overview
Reports to: Lead, Technical Service
Shift: 7x7, 12 hours per day
Location: Kamloops, BC
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation
Key Job Responsibilities
• Be available for equipment builds, commissioning stage, and follow-up repair and service
• Provide technical support to all product lines on customers’ sites
• Research and troubleshoot technical issues
• Apply hydraulic, mechanical and electrical knowledge to equipment issues
• Maintain customer database
• Interface current field issues with our product support group to assist, rectify and improve repetitive or critical issues
• Willingness to work overtime when required
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems at customer sites
• Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
• Red Seal Electrical Journeyperson certification required; dual ticket preferred
• Minimum 1-3 years related experience preferred
• Able to participate in machine building and commissioning phases of new equipment
• Understand the operation and function of mining shovels, drills, loaders and be capable of accurately diagnosing problems
• Capable of accurately diagnosing problems and working with PLC’s and digital drives
• Possess proven experience troubleshooting mining machines while working in an outdoor environment plus demonstrated electrical proficiency on high voltage electrical equipment
• Experience in testing the repaired equipment for proper performance
• Superior customer service skills and communication skills are required
• Basic knowledge of Advanced Control Systems such as A/B Rockwell, ABB Control Builder, Step-7 Siemens
• Solid track record in dealing with customers in a technical role
• Adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems at customer sites
• Ability to document and report machine issues in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other mechanical and electrical journeymen and apprentices within the field environment
• Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
