Job Title: Foundations and Corporate Relations Manager

Reports to: Chief Development Officer

Location: Position requires bi-weekly travel to Western MA for in-person staff meetings at the office.

Travel: Travel will be required to meet with foundation and corporate executives across the state.

Part-time: 32 hours/week

Compensation: $70,000 annually

Position Summary:

The Foundations and Corporate Relations Manager is responsible for driving revenue generation through foundation, corporate, and public funding sources to support Treehouse’s mission. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Manager oversees identification of grant opportunities, development and submission of grant proposals, development of corporate sponsorships, and management of funder relationships with a focus on visibility and long-term sustainability. The Manager also ensures projects are in compliance with funder requirements and manages reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grant writing with a history of success in winning large state and federal awards, as well as a track record in cultivating and managing relationships with institutional donors.

Treehouse has gained national recognition for its innovative multigenerational community living model that addresses three critical issues: child welfare, vital aging and affordable housing. Three generations thrive in one intentionally designed neighborhood, supporting each other as community members with the help of on-site staff, programs and services. Our first neighborhood opened in Easthampton, MA in 2006. Treehouse at Olmsted Village in Mattapan, Boston will welcome members in 2028. A third community is being planned for Worcester, MA while national expansion planning to six sites by 2030 are underway.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Writing and Proposal Development
• Research, identify, and prioritize funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and public funding sources.
• Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals and sponsorship proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports to secure funding
• Develop customized proposals and pitches that align with the organization's goals and the funder's priorities.
• Collaborate with program, finance and communications staff to gather information for proposals and ensure accuracy in project budgets and narratives.

Relationship Management
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with foundation, corporate, and government funders to build a strong portfolio of institutional supporters.
• Manage the grant calendar, tracking deadlines for proposals, reports, and other required communications.
• Represent the organization in meetings and networking events with potential funders and partners.
• Conduct tours and prepare presentations for funders, sponsors and prospects.
• Prepare briefing materials for leadership and program staff ahead of funder meetings.

Grant Compliance and Reporting
• Ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including reporting deadlines, budget tracking, and deliverables.
• Monitor grant-funded programs to ensure that all commitments to funders are met.
• Provide timely updates and progress reports internally and externally on the outcomes and impact of funded initiatives.
• Strengthen internal systems and processes related to grant management, financial reporting

Strategy and Growth
• Contribute to the development and execution of a strategic plan for institutional fundraising, with an emphasis on diversifying revenue streams.
• Identify emerging trends in philanthropy and recommend strategies to increase funding from corporate, foundation, and federal sources.
• Work with the Chief Development Officer to set annual fundraising goals and measure progress against key performance indicators.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, with a proven track record of success in securing funding from foundations, corporations, federal and state grant programs.
• Strong understanding of the federal grant application process, including knowledge of government funding mechanisms and compliance requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, persuasive language.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with fundraising databases (Salesforce), grant management software and project management (ASANA) is a plus.

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

This is a part-time exempt, benefited position. The annual pay range is 60-70k commensurate with experience. This position is hybrid, with biweekly travel to Western Massachusetts for Staff Meets, site visits and/or key events. Travel is expected as the person has statewide responsibility. Occasional evening and weekend hours required.
