The Board of Education of the Walton Central School District announces a vacancy for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The successful candidate will:

1. Be approachable and able to communicate with people from all walks of life with honesty, integrity, and sincerity;
2. Exhibit good judgment, is patient in dealing with others, and has shown evidence of stability and integrity under pressure;
3. Have genuine concern for children as demonstrated by listening, being visible and known to them, and involvement in their education and activities;
4. Have a leadership style that is built upon trust, integrity, enthusiasm, compassion, courtesy, common sense, attention to detail, and strong moral and ethical values;
5. Have an ability to engage and involve parents, community, staff, and students in the educational improvement process;
6. Have a reputation for honesty, integrity, knowledge of public school administration, leadership, and good character.

Mr. Michael Rullo, District Superintendent of the Sole Supervisory District of Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego Counties, will assist the Walton Central School District Board of Education in the selection process. The Board of Education will make the final decision as to the successful candidate. Applicants are not to contact members of the Board of Education.
