GENERAL DUTIES
I.T. Associates perform moderately complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Associates work in areas such as development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include resolving complex technology problems and serving as a technical resource. They have considerable latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may have supervisory responsibilities.
I.T. Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines.

New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY) is a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn, offering associate and baccalaureate degree in technology and health related degree programs, other career-oriented degrees and liberal arts transfer degrees in its Schools of Arts and Sciences, Technology and Design, and Professional Studies.
The Office of the Provost at City Tech welcomes applications for a full-time IT Associate Level 1 position to provide information technology solutions and support for the Open Lab and College Learning Center.
An appointment to this competitive title/position in the Classified Civil Service Title Series will be made with a temporary status. Employees in temporary status must pass a competitive civil service examination and be appointed from a civil service list to remain in the title/position.
