Location: Bahir – Dar Hamlin Fistula Center
Response to: Out-reach center doctor, or site Administrator
Salary: As per pay scale of the organization
Type of Employment: One year contract, with possibility of extension
Main Activities:
- Clinical support in the Fistula Center and participating in patent location and prevention activities in rural areas within the region
Detailed Activities:
- Work as a member of the medial team at the outreach location supporting the clinical activities in the Operation Theatre and the recovery ward and outpatient department (OPD)
- Co-ordinate activities between the out-reach center and those of other stakeholders in material health
- Report activities to the out-reach center doctor and main hospital
- Participate in training health center and health post staff in prevention, screening, pre-surgical treatment of fistula patients and location of “hidden” fistula patients. This would also include avoiding Obstetric Fistula and basic maternal health
- Prepare a report based upon the mapping of the source of fistula patients treated in the region, along with any recommendations
- Co-operates with the center doctor in data collection on post operative outcomes for fistula patients
- Work closely with the out-reach center staff assisting in all aspects of the care, given as the need arises
