We're currently seeking aCorporate Counsel, Labor & Employment to join our legal department.
Location: Hybrid from our Westminster, CO office
Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000 annually*
*Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
What you’ll do:
- Strategic counsel: Provide expert guidance to HR and business leaders on a wide array of employment-related matters, such as leaves of absences, discipline and terminations, reasonable accommodations, restrictive covenants, separation agreements, corporate reorganizations, employee relations issues, wage and hour compliance, contingent worker issues, and EEO and diversity matters.
- Investigative leadership: Lead or support internal investigations, ensuring the integrity of our company culture.
- Strategic partnering: Cultivate strong relationships with our business partners, working collaboratively with various divisions to drive the achievement of our company's objectives.
- External legal oversight: Manage and oversee legal work in collaboration with external counsel, ensuring a seamless legal support system.
- Cross-functional interaction: Engage in regular and significant interaction with key functional areas, including human resources, security, and other enterprise leaders, as the need arises.
- Efficiencies: Collaborate seamlessly across legal and business functions to add value, manage risk, and safeguard the company's reputation.
- Project Involvement: Act as the legal representative on various cross-functional projects and initiatives, contributing your expertise to multifaceted challenges.
- Team Collaboration: Work cohesively with key functional groups within Moore, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared success.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution and be an active member in good standing of the Colorado bar.
- 5+ years of experience, either from a law firm or an in-house corporate legal department. In-house corporate legal department experience is strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to employment law issues, encompassing Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FLSA, and FMLA. Familiarity with NLRA and OSHA is a plus.
- Broad expertise in the legal intricacies of employment claims, spanning wage and hour matters, discrimination, retaliation, FMLA, and restrictive covenant agreements.
